After a short battle with cancer, Keith Williamson passed away on June 25, 2011. He was a dedicated soul in the background of the World Stockdog Championship during the Calgary Stampede. He took pride in making sure the sheep for the competitors were fair, visiting the flock weeks before the trial itself, and sorting them out. He was out there early every morning, making sure the sheep were looked after. Keith was the type of man who would help at any trial, delivering his pen, pushing sheep out, whatever had to be done. Keith would come out occasionally to dog trials and compete, and often he would just come out to watch and to visit. Keith was the first recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Alberta Stock Dog Association. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Liz and family. You will never be forgotten Keith.
